Form templates can be edited at any time. However, please note that any changes made to an in-use form template may affect historical response/submission data - here are some things to consider when editing a template.

Here's how to edit a template:

Note: To edit a form template, you must be an Administrator or Team Lead.

1. Go to Forms in the main menu

2. Click on Templates

3. Scroll or search the list to find the Template you would like to edit. Once you find the Template, click or tap on the "..." button and select "Edit Template" from the pulldown list of options.

4. You can now edit any question in the Template as you would when creating a new Template. However, be careful when editing responses. This may have unintended consequences when editing an actively deployed form. More on that here.

After you make an edit, be sure to select "Save" before closing out the edit window.

5. Changes will automatically save as you edit a Template.

Please note: if a template is already in use...any changes made to the template now will take immediate effect and will update past submissions. For example, deleting a question will cause loss of data on past submissions that cannot be undone. If you need to make make material changes to the template, we recommend copying the template and starting fresh so as not to affect your historical data.
